Cheat Engine Working on Android?
How many times have you found yourself struggling to progress in some of your favorite games and wished you had some method to cheat just a bit?
Don't worry, this is more common than many want to admit.
This is precisely why tools like Cheat Engine exist. But since Cheat Engine only works on desktop computers, what do you do if you are an Android user?
Does Cheat Engine work on Android?
Not officially. However, there are a couple of non-official methods you can use to harness the power of Cheat Engine for your Android games.
Today, I’ll enlighten your mind, little Obi-Wan...
What is Cheat Engine?
In case you’ve been living in a cave, Cheat Engine is a program that allows you to scan your computer's memory and access data stored there. In other words, a debugger to access and modify the
memory of your favorite games. This feature is what allows you to modify the values of specific variables in a game, which in turn gives you the power to modify game values such as health,
score, lives, money, experience, ammunition, etc. In some cases, you can also modify certain values to adjust the performance, such as resolution, texture quality, and draw distance, among
others.
But does it really work?
I said that Cheat Engine is officially only available for desktop computers (Windows, Mac, or Linux).
But as a developer, I can tell you that when it comes to software, almost anything is possible.
Currently, there are basically two methods by which you can "run" Cheat Engine on your Android device:
- Using an Android emulator for PC
- Using an unofficial version of Cheat Engine for Android
Let's go step by step.
1.- Using an Android Emulator for PC
For sake of simplicity, I'll focus on Windows.
This means that you can use the Android emulator of your choice to do the experiment.
One of the most popular is BlueStacks, but there are many more emulators. I’ll focus on BlueStacks.
- Basically, this method involves installing BlueStacks and Cheat Engine on your computer.
- Then, you’ll need to run BlueStacks with the Android game of your choice.
- Now run Cheat Engine and set it to scan all your computer’s memory until it reaches the memory used by BlueStacks and the game.
- Find the cheats and make the modifications you want.
- Save your game to also save the modifications you made to it.
- Finally, export the save file to your Android device and continue playing the game on your device whenever and wherever you want.
Simple and easy. You can learn more from these Android tutorials here.
2.- Using a non-official version of Cheat Engine for Android
There are some non-official versions of Cheat Engine for Android developed by fans of emulation. This is possible because Cheat Engine is open-source software.
However, these unofficial versions aren’t as powerful as the desktop version, so you shouldn’t expect the same performance.
On the other hand, in order to run properly, these versions require you to grant root permissions, with the consequent risks that this entails.
Also note that you won’t find any of these apps in the Play Store, so you’ll have to download their APKs, and this is also a risk.
In general, you only need to download the app, configure it, and run it on your favorite game to find cheats that you can take advantage of.
These apps usually scan the internet for MOD versions applicable to your chosen game, so the process is pretty quick and easy.
Nowadays, you can find a good variety of Cheat Engine versions for Android on the Internet. You can also find some versions on the official Cheat Engine forum.
Hope this guide has been useful for you to enjoy your favorite Android games like never before. See you in another interesting article.
